Fruited Barbecue Sauce

Servings 2 cups of sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ½ cup onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can Soup Option, (10½ oz / 298 g)
  • 1 cup Preserves Option
  • ¼ cup Liquid Option
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

OPTIONS

Soup - Use 1 Item

  • condensed beef broth, or 2½ cups fresh broth
  • condensed chicken broth, or 2½ cups fresh broth, Shortcut
  • condensed French onion soup

Preserves - Use 1 Item

  • apricot preserves
  • peach preserves
  • orange marmalade

Liquid - Use 1 Item

  • lemon juice
  • cider vinegar
  • lime juice

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oil in a 2 quart saucepan on medium heat, when hot, add the onion and garlic. Sauté until tender.
  • Stir in all remaining ingredients, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Use to marinate and baste chicken or ribs, then heat remaining sauce to pour over the meat. Enjoy.
