  • 2<\/span> cups<\/span> dry macaroni<\/span><\/li>
  • 3<\/span> tablespoons<\/span> butter<\/span><\/li>
  • 3<\/span> tablespoons<\/span> all-purpose flour<\/span><\/li>
  • 2<\/span> cups<\/span> milk<\/span><\/li>
  • \u00bd<\/span> teaspoon<\/span> salt<\/span><\/li>
  • dash <\/span> black pepper<\/span><\/li>
  • 2<\/span> cups<\/span> Cheddar cheese<\/span>, shredded, (8 oz \/ 226 g)<\/span><\/li>
  • tomato slices<\/span>, as needed<\/span><\/li>
  • paprika<\/span>, as desired<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n

    Instructions

    • Cook macaroni in a pot of salted boiling water until just tender. Drain.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • In a large saucepan, melt the butter, then whisk in the flour until smooth.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Whisk in milk, continue whisking until thickened, then season with salt and pepper as desired.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Stir in 1\u00bd cups of the cheese, reserving \u00bd cup for the topping. Stir until cheese is melted in.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Preheat your oven to 180\u00b0 C (350\u00b0 F), get out and grease with butter or cooking spray, a 7x11 inch baking pan.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Place the drained macaroni in the pan and spread out evenly.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Pour cheese sauce evenly over the top.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Salt the tomato slices and arrange on top, pushing he side of each slice slightly into the macaroni. <\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Top with remaining cheese.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Bake for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Sprinkle with paprika, serve and enjoy.<\/span><\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n
