This one is a long shot. The large green chilis at the markets may work well for this though. Jarlsberg is a Norwegian cheese, a milder version of Swiss, also called Baby Swiss. I think Swiss or even Cheddar will work well with this. I will be giving this a try for sure!

Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix together everything except the peppers to make the cheese filling.
  2. Using a small sharp knife, cut a slit down one side of each pepper. Leaving the stem intact, remove the seeds and veins.
  3. Stuff each pepper with the cheese filling.
  4. Bake at 180 C for 8-10 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Recipe Notes

Low quantities of high cost ingredients. Well under $1 per serving.

Alternates to this recipe, grill over low heat instead of roasting in an oven. The Thai long thick green chili peppers would be a great alternative to the canned jalapenos. Wrap a strip of bacon around each pepper. Enjoy!

  1. Agree with Dave 🙂

  2. Grilling at low heat should make these taste awesome too!

    • I have made these a few months ago with the large green chilies from Tesco, only problem, those need to be roasted and peeled like a Hatch chili, but once the skin was removed, excellent 🙂

    • But we are growing Jalapenos now here at the house so I will post again when we have some Jalapenos to use for this.
