Ingredients
  

  • 4-5 chicken breasts, boneless, skinless
  • 2 cans creamed corn, (15 oz / 425 g each)
  • 2 cans diced green chilies , (4 oz / 113 g each)
  • 1 cup salsa verde
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin, heaping
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder, heaping
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Add the chicken breasts to your slow cooker.
  • To a large mixing bowl, add the remaining ingredients.
  • Stir to mix together.
  • Pour mixture over the chicken, cover and set to Low and cook for 4-6 hours.
  • At 4 hours, using a meat thermometer, check the internal temp on the thickest chicken breast, when it reads 74° C (165° F), the chicken is done, if not, check again at 5 hours then at 6 hours. Mine was perfect at 5 hours.
    Remove chicken from the slow cooker to a cutting board, chop or shred with forks, and return to the cooker.
  • Stir the chicken into the chili, cook for another 10-15 minutes.
  • Serve, and if desired top with your favorite chili toppings, such as shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, green chilis, or spring onion. Enjoy.

Notes

For Thailand, this is high cost per serving based on the canned diced green chilis (import). The salsa verde can be an import or locally produced, I used a locally produced so I did save a few dollars that way.

Chili sauce and orange marmalade go together well, so this is a Asian twist on BBQ Little Smokies, and it is delicious! For this I use the tiny mini cocktail chicken & pork sausages, the bonus is they have no plastic 'skins' to remove first.

  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • ½ cup orange marmalade
  • 1 kilo mini cocktail sausages, (2 lb)

Instructions
 

  • Add the chili sauce and marmalade to your slow cooker and stir together.
  • Add the sausages, mini size remove the skins first, the tiny mini may not have skins. Mix them into the sauce. Cover and set to Low setting for 2-3 hours.
  • Serve right from the pot, enjoy with sides of your choice, a seasoned rice goes very well with this.

Notes

Fair cost per serving now, I have to get the exact price on the 1,000 gram packages of the tiny mini cocktail sausages.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 chicken breasts, skinless, boneless
  • 2 cups chicken broth, from powder or homemade
  • ¼ cup dry white wine
  • ¼ cup whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, Shortcut
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch, heaping

Instructions
 

  • Prep the chicken by cutting each breast in half lengthwise, then cut each piece into 3 chunks. Set aside.
  • To your slow cooker, add all ingredients except the chicken and corn starch. Whisk to combine and there is no lumps.
  • Add the chicken, stir everything together, cover, and place on High setting for 3 hours.
  • At 3 hours, leave cooker on High, uncover and remove chicken with a slotted spoon.
  • Sprinkle the corn starch into the pot, whisk to mix in well. Leave the cooker on High and return chicken to the pot and mix in. Leave uncovered and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stir often to slightly thicken sauce.
  • Spoon over hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes, spoon sauce over the chicken and rice as desired, enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 750-1000 grams chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, (1½-2 lb)
  • 1 can mandarin oranges, with juice, (15 oz / 425 g)
  • cups fresh long beans, or green beans, cut into 1-2 inch pieces
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 tablespoons corn starch
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • sesame seeds, for garnish, as desired

Instructions
 

  • Cut the chicken into bite size pieces and add to your slow cooker.
  • Open the can of mandarin orange and drain the juice into the slow cooker (the oranges will be used later so set them aside), then add the long beans, orange juice, broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil to the slow cooker.
  • Stir everything together, cover, and set to Low setting for 3½ hours.
  • At 3½ hours, mix together the corn starch and 3 tablespoons of cold water in a measuring cup, then stir into the cooker. Cover and cook for another 30 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  • Add the mandarin orange slices and gently mix in, allow to heat for a few minutes.
  • Spoon some of the sauce into a gravy boat or two, serve with rice and garnish with sesame seeds as desired, and pour on sauce as desired, enjoy.

Notes

I will say Fair cost per serving as I will be using canned mandarin oranges (Brook brand) first for this (I plan on canning some at a later date).

  • 500 grams chicken breasts, or thighs, boneless, skinless, (1 lb)

  • 2 tablespoons tomatillo, chopped

For Serving

  • corn tortillas
  • taco sauce

Instructions
 

  • Add all Slow Cooker ingredients to your slow cooker, cover, and set to Low set for 3 hours or High for 1½ hours, or until meat can be shredded. (I will verify the time when I make this.)
  • Shred chicken and mix with juices in pot.
  • Serve in corn tortillas with toppings of your choice. Enjoy.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning, Shortcut
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup chicken broth, Shortcut
  • 2 stalks celery, cut in half
  • 2 carrots, cut into quarters
  • 1 large onion, cut into ½ inch wedges
  • 1 turkey breast, boneless, skin on, (1-2 kilos / 2-4 lbs)

Instructions
 

  • Add the celery, carrots, and onion to your slow cooker. Pour in the broth.
  • Make the seasoning; mix together the olive oil, poultry seasoning, garlic powder, pepper, and paprika in a small bowl. Turn breast so it is skin side down, use a brush and spread about half of the seasoning evenly over the meat side of the breast. Place breast into the slow cooker skin side up. Brush the remaining seasoning over the skin side of the breast. (I used a skinless turkey breast by mistake.)
  • Cover the slow cooker and set to Low setting, length of time based on weight.
    1 kilo / 2-2½ lbs: 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes.
    1½ kilo / 3-3½ lbs: 3 hours 45 minutes to 4 hours 15 minutes.
    2 kilo / 4-4½ lbs: 4 hours 45 minutes to 5 hours 15 minutes.
  • Check internal temp to ensure the meat is fully cooked, temp should be 74° C (165° F). Do not overcook or the turkey may not turn out as juicy. If the internal temp is low, continue cooking for 30 minutes and test again.
  • Remove the turkey breast to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice and arrange on a serving platter.
  • Use the liquid in the slow cooker to make a gravy, or if using a packaged gravy mix, replace the water called for with an equal amount of liquid from the slow cooker.
  • Serve with sides of your choice, enjoy.

I will price this when I order another turkey and I will cut the turkey up before cooking and prepare this. For now I will say Fair cost.

  • 2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup, Shortcut
  • 1 can chicken broth, (14.5 oz can or 2 cups fresh), Shortcut
  • 2 packets brown gravy mix, Shortcut
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • mashed potatoes or rice, for serving

Instructions
 

  • Season the chicken on each side with black pepper and garlic powder as desired, add the chicken to your slow cooker.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the soup, broth, gravy mix, and flour. Whisk together.
  • Pour mixture over the chicken. Cook on High setting for 3-4 hours or Low setting for 6-7 hours.
  • Turn slow cooker to Warm setting. Remove the chicken to a shallow dish and shred with two forks into bite size pieces and return to the slow cooker. Leave the lid off the cooker while you prepare the mashed potatoes or rice.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes or rice (or biscuits) with sides of your choice. Enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 3-4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 tablespoon bacon fat
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper, as desired
  • 1 package dry chicken gravy mix
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 6-8 slices bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
  • fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Place the chicken, garlic, and bacon fat in your slow cooker. Sprinkle with thyme and season with salt and pepper as desired.
  • In a measuring cup, mix together the gravy mix with the cold water, pour over the chicken. Set the slow cooker to High setting and cook for 3 hours.
  • After 3 hours, roughly shred the chicken, you can do this while the chicken is in the pot.
  • In a measuring cup, use a whisk and mix together the cream and flour until smooth. Stir the cream into the slow cooker. Switch the slow cooker to Low setting and cook for another hour.
  • After 1 hour, turn the slow cooker off, stir in the bacon.
  • Serve over biscuits, rice, egg noodles, or even mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with parsley for garnish as desired. Optionally, top with a side vegetable of your choice.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, (1 lb)
  • 2 cups creamy Caesar salad dressing, plus more for serving, (Shortcut)
  • 1 cup chicken broth, fresh or from powder, (Shortcut)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed and minced
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • salt and pepper, as desired
  • 1 head lettuce, chopped
  • 6 sandwich rolls, of your choice
  • butter, as needed
  • Parmesan cheese, shaved or shredded, for serving

Instructions
 

  • To your slow cooker, add the first 7 ingredients, season with salt and pepper as desired, mix together. Place the lid on and set to High for 3-4.
  • Check the chicken at 3 hours, if it easily shreds, it is ready, if not, let cook for another hour.
  • When the chicken is ready, drain most of the liquid from the pot then use two forks and shred the chicken, mix and add additional Caesar dressing to get a nice creamy consistency.
  • Toast the sandwich rolls and butter each piece. On the bottom parts of the rolls, add lettuce as desired, the Caesar chicken, season with pepper as desired, add some Parmesan cheese, top with the top of the roll.
  • Serve and enjoy.
