Recipes and Salt

This has always made me think. There is only one person at fault when it comes to a too salty dish, that is the person cooking it. If a recipe calls for 5 teaspoons of salt or 5 tablespoons (I have seen that listed!!!), if the cook cannot figure out to reduce the salt, that is their problem.

A recipe is a guide, it is not written in stone, very possible the person who wrote the recipe likes salt, that is fine, I have no problem with that, but I do have the sense to omit the salt and let others add it if they desire.

I see a lot of recipe sites that people give low ratings because of the amount of salt stated, like I said, the people cooking control that.
